Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital has a robust research culture and an exceptional reputation for research governance: a unique, formal framework for monitoring the standards and outcomes of all research conducted within the hospital.
Charlies Foundation for Research has a proud history of supporting world-leading clinical and patient-centered research at the Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group (SCGOPHCG).
At SCGOPHCG high quality research is fundamental to the future of nursing. The Centre for Nursing Research (CNR) was developed in conjunction with Edith Cowan University and has since established partnerships with Curtin University and the University of Western Australia.
This innovative and unique framework gives nurses the opportunity to work with experienced academic researchers to inform and advance nursing practice through practical research programs, explore clinical practice issues relevant to nursing, influence policy development and work towards improving outcomes for patients and their families across all clinical areas of the Hospital.
Research Week is held annually to promote and acknowledge the work of all SCGH Researchers who have been supported by the RAC. Research Week also provides learning opportunities for Research in general, including a poster display of research projects .
